Vols open eyes despite loss
Colin Cowherd said it best today - the Tennessee Volunteers are going to be a very tough team once Lane Kiffin gets his players in place in the coming years. Year two seems to always be the important one - ask Nick Saban or Rich Rodriguez - and next year may very well be the big year for the Vols. In their 12-10 loss on Saturday, the Volunteers not only opened some eyes with Monte Kiffin’s defense holding the #2 Crimson Tide’s offense in check, but they almost pulled off the upset with a blocked field goal sealing the win for Alabama in the closing seconds. So time will tell for the Kiffins and Tennessee, but one thing is sure; this is a program that is back on the rise.
