Bower, the head coach at Southern Miss since 1990, had a career record of 112-77-1 coming into the 2007 season and his Golden Eagles teams have won 4 Conference USA Championships and 1 C-USA East Division Championship. Bower’s Southern Miss teams have had 13 consecutive winning seasons and 9 bowl appearances in the past 10 seasons.
