Late this past summer, while looking to expand the writing staff at CUSA-fans.com, the decision was made to change the strategy for representing the conference. With the recent changes in conference affiliations and the turnover in members of Conference USA, having a staff of Conference USA sports writers just did not seem to be the best way to appeal to the fans. So a staff of Conference USA Team Correspondents were brought in to cover each of the 12 teams in Conference USA. Each correspondent was given the simple option to make this opportunity into as much, or as little, as they wanted.

In steps Thomas “Bubba” Rosenbaum (ECU), Rick Atkinson (SMU), Carlos Silva, Jr. (UTEP), Cory Gunkel (Southern Miss), Kyle Eaton (Memphis), Daniel Walters (UAB), John Cooper (UCF), and later Patrick Mahoney (Houston). This team of writers now covers their respective teams for CUSA-fans.com with many providing weekly updates, previews, recaps, fan mailbags and recruiting updates.

While each of the team members has contributed in their own way, none has put in the time and effort as much as Bubba Rosenbaum. A season ticket holder for many ECU sports, Rosenbaum played 17 years of football and now is a teacher and coach. He has taken his role as the East Carolina team correspondent very seriously; so seriously in fact that he also provides CUSA-fans.com with a weekly Conference USA football preview, a weekly C-USA football recap and his weekly Rosenbaum’s Rousers column where he briefly recaps several NCAA football games nationwide.
