Rice 0, Oregon State 5
Rice could not get the bats working last night as they dropped their first game of the College World series 5-0. Oregon State scored all five of their runs within the first six innings and Rice could never answer. These two will have a rematch tonight to see who will face North Carolina in the NCAA Championship Series. Rice will rely on their All-American ace pitcher Eddie Degerman to continue his domination.
Rice 3, Miami 2
Pitching was the story last night as Rice held off Miami late for the 3-2 victory. In a bold move Rice started its superb closer Cole St. Clair, and it paid off as St. Clair pitched five strong in earning the win. Bryce Cox later came in and closed the game out. Rice is now in the winners bracket and will only need to win one more game to advance to the Championship Series. They will await the winner of the Miami v. Oregon State elimination game windstorm.
Rice 6, Georgia 4
Rice leaned on the big arm of Eddie Degerman, who pitched six strong before giving up a hit. Georgia made the most of it scoring 4 runs but Rice would not bow down, answering the dogs with 4 runs of their own in the seventh. Bryce Cox picked up the win, while Joe Savery lead the Owl’s at the plate going 3 for 3. Rice will face Miami Monday in the winners bracket.

The Owls will square off against the winner of the Georgia v. South Carolina game.
Rice 5, Oklahoma 11
The Sooners fell behind early as Rice jumped out to a 5-1 lead, but a five run fourth helped them take the momentum and eventually the game 11-5.
