There is no doubt of which weekend series should be highlighted. It is the battle between the two teams picked to finish #1 and #2 in conference USA at seasons end; Rice and Tulane. Rice comes into the game with an overall record of 21-8, including a 2-1 record in conference play. Tulane enters the series at 18-9, tied with Rice in conference with a 2-1 record.
This weekend is huge for the momentum of both teams and (could) help to determine the champion at seasons end, either way it should be a heck of a series. The fact that both teams are highly ranked, and loaded with talent should be enough, but no we have the element of revenge as well. The two teams squared off last year in the super regional of the NCAA tournament with Tulane taking two out of the three and advancing to the World Series.
What to watch for: Pitching
The most interesting match-up will be the battle of the pitching and which staff will excel.
Friday’s game will be broadcasted live on CSTV at 6:30 (central).

You have committed two grave errors in your blog report. First, it is true that Rice did defeat Tulane 9-5 last season, but that was in game one of the New Orleans Super Regional (not regional). Tulane went on to win game two by a score of 7-0 and game three by a score of 9-6 to advance to the College World Series. As such, it is Rice that will be seeking vengeance.
The second and most egregious error is that you seem to be confusing Tulane with archrival/evil empire LSU, whom Rice defeated in the Baton Rouge regional to advance to the New Orleans Super Regional.
One thing is clear: this will be the beginning of a great Conference USA rivalry.

I’ll have to get that corrected asap but maybe you should let your web site know this as well.
Yes, this should be a great rivalry.
