Assistant Coach Blogging for UAB Basketball

by @ 3:41 pm. Filed under C-USA Basketball

UAB Assistant Coach Matt Zimmerman has found a new way to communicate with his Blazer and Conference USA fans, through the art of Blogging. In his blog, Blazin’ the Trial, Coach Zimmerman discuses the 2005-2006 season, and gives an on the court/in-the-lockeroom report of the action as UAB pushes to make the NCAA tournament. His recent post highlights their road victory over SMU and how Marvett McDonald burned the net with 39 points. Zimmerman will continue to Blog for the remainder of the season, even up till the national championship game.

The Blog is being provided to us through al.com and can be accessed at www.al.com/uabbasketball/trail/?aboutauthor. I have posted the link under C-USA related links. It should be an interesting site to read, especially leading up to the UAB and Memphis battle this Thursday. In my opinion, UAB (20-5) have had a season worthy of making it into the NCAA tournament, but will the selection committee feel the same way? This Thursday night will be the real deciding factor. If UAB can upset #3 Memphis I believe they will have insured their place in the NCAA tournament.
