As everyone knows Hurricane Katrina put a blemish on a majority of sporting events in the deep south. The New Orleans Bowl was one of those events, which had to be moved from its usual site, the Super Dome in downtown New Orleans, to Cajun Field in Lafayette, LA. So when Southern Miss was invited to the bowl I over-heard some fans complaining that Lafayette could never live up to the excitement of New Orleans. Well, they received an A+ in my book…if not for the experience then definitely for the effort put forward.
