USC jumps to #2 in BCS, leapfrogs Michigan

Well it is official. USC has jumped Michigan and is now #2 in the BCS standings. Apparently a late-season 20-point win at home against Notre Dame is more impressive than a early-season 26-point win on the road against Notre Dame. Apparently a single loss to a unranked 8-4 Oregon State is not as bad as a loss to the 12-0, #1 Ohio State Buckeyes. I am still trying to figure out where Michigan will be bowling.

The BCS standings have USC as #2 with a score of .9460 and Michigan #3 at .9216. #4 Florida has a score of .8897 and #5 and below seem to be out of contention for the top spots. So, as it stands, a USC win @ rival UCLA next week puts USC back in the BCS National Championship game.

I guess we know why they were ranked above Michigan, and It didnt hurt that you lost in the last week of the season to a team that didnt deserve a national championship bid. Just think, if they had left you at number 2, a Big Ten team would have won a national championship, when they were actually incapable of even winning a BCS game. Where would that have left the vastly superior Florida and Southern Cal teams?
